Welcome to Podiana, the podcast for local businesses and personalities. This is the first episode, so let's start with the obvious question: why should a bakery, a law firm or a yoga studio have a voice on the internet at all?

Here's the thing. People don't choose a local business because of a logo. They choose it because of a person. The owner who explains why the bread takes two days. The coach who tells you honestly what she can't do. Text on a website rarely carries that. A voice does. Twelve minutes of listening builds more trust than a hundred visits to a homepage.

Podiana is part of the Online Media Network, a family of magazines, directories and city guides. Every guest on this show is also listed in the member.show directory and can be featured in the magazines of the network. That's the idea: one conversation, many places where it can be found.

And there's one more thing that makes this podcast different. Every episode comes with a widget. You paste two lines of code into your own website, and your episode plays right there, with structured data attached, so search engines understand who spoke, about what, and where the original lives.

In the next episodes we'll get practical: how a local business gets found, how to collect honest reviews, and how to tell your story in sixty seconds. Until then: this was Podiana. Take a seat on the stage.
